My Week with Marilyn hits the UK cinema screens this Friday, November 25th, and after a long wait of speculation, interviews and reviews, we could not be more excited to finally see it!
My Week with Marilyn is the film directing debut of Simon Curtis and is based on a memoir by Colin Clark, an assistant director on Marilyn Monroe’s and Laurence Olivier’s ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’.
Michelle Williams has been widely praised for her portrayal of Marilyn and is one of the hot favourites to pick up the coveted Best Actress gong at this year’s Oscars. Williams told Adam Green of American Vogue that the notion of playing Monroe was daunting, but as she finished reading the script, she knew she wanted the role. Williams is also joined by Emma Watson who plays her wardrobe mistress, Lucy and the film’s protagonist Colin Clark, is played by rising star Eddie Redmayne. Kenneth Branagh and Damn Judi Dench also join this star studded cast.
